Household Hazardous Waste Collection Info
Household hazardous waste collection events are funded by Casella Waste Management and presented by Chemung County and the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County. Collection days are held in the Spring and Fall.
Pre-registration is required.
The Fall Household Hazardous Waste Event will take place on October 14th, 2023.
Registration will open on September 13th and continue through October 11th.
To pre-register, please call the Chemung Cornell Cooperative Extension at 734-4453. Registration is only open on weekdays from 9am to 4pm.
Phones do not receive calls between 12pm - 1pm.

About This Event
Registration will open September 13th for Chemung County's FALL 2023 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event.
This event is for Chemung County residents only and is FREE to participate.When registering, please have the following information available:
Your Name
Your Phone number
Your Address
How you heard about this event (a friend or family member, TV ad, newspaper ad or article, the Internet, other)
If you have participated before
The waste you intend to bring and the approximate amount
Waiver
You will also be asked to ascertain: "By registering for this event, I confirm that all of the materials I am bringing for disposal were generated by a household and not by a business."
If you are a business, please call Clean Harbors directly at 315-741-3272On the day of the event, we ask that you write your name on a sheet of paper and post it to, or hold it up to, your window as you drive through.
This is how you will be checked in.And please remember...
**No electronics.
No pets.
No smoking.
No empty containers!
Place items in the back of your vehicle so the haulers can easily retrieve them.
**There is a separate e-waste drop-off event that is held twice a year to recycle your electronics
